How to watch, what to watch for Jets vs. Chiefs in Week 8

The Jets and Chiefs face off in Week 8 of the 2020 NFL season. We break down how to watch the game, odds for the matchup, key injuries, and notable fantasy football start/sit considerations.

The Kansas City Chiefs will host the New York Jets at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 8. This game likely won’t be very competitive as the Chiefs (6-1) are one of the best teams in the NFL and the Jets (0-7) are the last winless team in the league.

The Chiefs bounced back from a loss to the Raiders by routing the Denver Broncos 43-16 in Week 7. Reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes leads an explosive offense that ranks fifth in the NFL in scoring and seventh in yards. He will be opposed by third-year quarterback Sam Darnold and the worst offense in the league, as the Jets rank dead last in the NFL in points and yards. They are coming off an 18-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills that saw them log 190 total yards.

Here’s how to watch Sunday’s game, odds for the matchup, key injuries, and notable fantasy football start/sit considerations.

Fantasy football start/sit advice

Jets

Jamison Crowder, WR, $5,800

If Crowder is healthy, he’s always a great option. He has racked up 100 or more receiving yards in three of the four games in which he’s appeared. He also has two touchdown catches. With the Jets likely to be facing a big deficit in Kansas City, Crowder should see lots of targets if he plays.

Frank Gore, RB, $4,000

Now that Le’Veon Bell is out of the picture (and ironically with the Chiefs), Gore is RB1 for the Jets. However, the 37-year-old hasn’t been terribly productive, failing to gain more than 63 rushing yards in a game all season. And he’s now splitting carries with La’Mical Perine and hasn’t had a single red. zone touch since Week 4. You can find better options.

Chiefs

Le’Veon Bell, RB, $4,600

Bell should be extra motivated this week as he faces the team that just released him a couple of weeks ago. That doesn’t mean he’s worth starting. Bell is still behind rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire in the pecking order as he gets up to speed in his new offense. Even then, Edwards-Helaire and Bell will split carries at best. Bell had just six touches in his Chiefs debut at Denver.

Travis Kelce, TE, $6,600

Kelce is coming off his worst game of the season after catching just three passes for 31 yards against Denver. Look for the Chiefs to get him more involved against a Jets defense that is one of the worst in the NFL.
