Two young quarterbacks will go toe to toe in a Week 4 matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Rookie signal caller Joe Burrow will be up against Gardner Minshew II, and both quarterbacks are in need of a pick-me-up.
Burrow has thrown more passes that every quarterback but the Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott this season, but his team sits at 0-2-1 after a tying the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3. Burrow hasn’t built much of a connection with A.J. Green and has gotten limited contributions from Joe Mixon out of the backfield, but it appears like Cincinnati is improving every week.
Minshew threw three touchdown passes in each of his first two games and nearly came away with a 2-0 record. The Indianapolis Colts just edged him out by a field goal in Week 2, but things fell apart the following week. The Jaguars couldn’t get anything going through the air against the Dolphins in Week 3 while D.J. Chark Jr. was out with a chest injury. Miami blew Jacksonville out 31-13 in that matchup, and the Jaguars could continue to struggle if their top offensive weapon isn’t back in Week 4.

Fantasy football start/sit advice
Jaguars
James Robinson, Running Back, $6,500
A series of unfortunate events led to Robinson winning a starting job as an undrafted rookie, but he’s been fairly impressive through three weeks. The do-it-all back has amassed 339 yards from scrimmage with three touchdowns and could make Chris Thompson obsolete before long. If D.J. Chark Jr. (chest) continues to miss time, Robinson should remain a focal point in the Jaguars’ offense.
Gardner Minshew II, Quarterback, $5,900
Minshew struggled to get things done against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3, but eclipsed 40 passing attempts for a second straight game. He threw for six touchdowns in his first two games of the season and could bounce back against a Bengals secondary that’s not great on paper.
Bengals
Joe Burrow, Quarterback, $6,300
Burrow has thrown for at least 300 yards and two touchdowns in two straight games and is getting little to no support from Joe Mixon on the ground. While he hasn’t built much of a connection with A.J. Green, he’s finding away to be productive with his other targets.
Tyler Boyd, Wide receiver, $6,100
Burrow’s connection with Boyd seems to be growing every week. Boyd caught seven passes for 72 yards in Week 2 before exploding for 10 receptions and 125 yards in Week 3. Boyd didn’t saw Tee Higgins catch two touchdown passes in Week 2, but appears to be becoming Burrow’s favorite target.
