Breaking down the NFL standings coming out of Week 7

Week 7 is underway and the NFL managed a slightly more balanced schedule this week. We get seven games in the 1 p.m. slot followed by four games in the 4:05/4:25 p.m. slot. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than last week’s nine and two split.

We’ll be updating the standings throughout the rest of the today and Monday evening.

AFC East

The Jets gave the Bills some trouble, but Buffalo outlasted them and New York remains winless. With the Patriots losing and the Dolphins making a switch to Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback, this is the Bills division to lose.

2. Miami Dolphins, 3-3
3. New England Patriots, 2-4
4. New York Jets, 0-7

AFC North

The Steelers are just trucking along and now have Tennessee’s zero on their belt. Cleveland got a key comeback win over Cincinnati, but we still don’t know what to make of the Browns against good teams.

2. Baltimore Ravens, 5-1
3. Cleveland Browns, 5-2
4. Cincinnati Bengals, 1-5-1

AFC South

The Texans dropped another one and things are pretty much finished for them.

1. Tennessee Titans, 5-1
2. Indianapolis Colts, 4-2
3. Houston Texans, 1-6
4. Jacksonville Jaguars, 1-6

AFC West

The Chiefs had no trouble with the Broncos and with the Raiders losing, KC will be clinching the division sooner than later.

2. Las Vegas Raiders, 3-3
3. Denver Broncos, 2-4
4. Los Angeles Chargers, 2-4

NFC East

We’re through seven weeks, and a 2-4-1 team is atop the division. That is all.

2. Washington Football Team, 2-5
3. Dallas Cowboys, 2-5
4. New York Giants, 1-6

NFC North

The Packers rolled Houston and I really didn’t expect to be this excited about Packers-Bears as I currently am. And how about the Lions winning an absolute miracle.

3. Detroit Lions, 3-3
4. Minnesota Vikings, 1-5

NFC South

The Saints got a huge win over Carolina and with a tiebreaker win over the Bucs are in good shape. Meanwhile, Atlanta with a truly heartbreaking loss.

2. New Orleans Saints, 4-2
3. Carolina Panthers, 3-4
4. Atlanta Falcons, 1-6

NFC West

The Cardinals beat the Seahawks in a wild overtime game and suddenly are only a half game back of the division lead. The 49ers impressed in thumping the Patriots, and that leaves the Rams left to play.
