How to watch, what to watch for Seahawks vs. Cardinals in Week 7

The Seahawks and Cardinals face off in Week 7 of the 2020 NFL season. We break down how to watch the game, odds for the matchup, key injuries, and notable fantasy football start/sit considerations.

Is Kyler Murray the next superstar quarterback in the making?

The Seattle Seahawks will look to run their record to 6-0 when they visit the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The Seahawks were on bye in Week 6, so their offense should be champing at the bit to get back to its productive ways. Led by MVP candidate Russell Wilson, the Seahawks currently boast two top-15 fantasy wideouts in D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett to go along with a top-10 running back in Chris Carson.

Arizona improved to 4-2 with a dominating 38-10 victory in Dallas on Monday night. Kyler Murray completed just nine passes but accounted for three touchdowns. His two passing scores went to Christian Kirk, including a deep shot from 80 yards out. RB Kenyan Drake came up with his best game of the season — 20 carries for 164 yards and two TDs. That was topped off with a 69-yard scoring dash during garbage time that swung many fantasy matchups. The Cardinals have dropped three of the past four meetings in this series, but the one win was their most recent meeting, which came in Seattle last December. Arizona triumphed, 27-13

Fantasy football start/sit advice

Seahawks

Tyler Lockett, WR, $6,600

Metcalf has vastly outshined Lockett recently as the veteran has posted a 6-83-0 line on just nine targets through Seattle’s past two games. But prior to that, Lockett was a fantasy stud who registered DraftKings point totals of 17.2, 19.7 and 40.0. He’s not going to stay quiet for long. The Cardinals are above average against opposing wideouts, but with Russell Wilson playing like the best quarterback in football, Lockett is due to break out soon.

David Moore, WR, $3,100

Moore is a completely boom-or-bust option who doesn’t see more than a few targets per week. But if he comes down with one of them, it’s likely that it will happen deep down the field. He hasn’t caught more than three passes in any game, but he has scored twice and needs just one big play to return value if you feel like going with him as a GPP punt play.

Cardinals

DeAndre Hopkins, WR, $8,200

Yeah, Hopkins price is the highest on the slate for a WR, but you can’t knock his production thus far: At least 20 DraftKings points in four of six games. The Seahawks are allowing the most fantasy points per game to wideouts on average, and there are 15 points separating them from the next defense on that list. His 2-73-0 line from Week 6 is a total outlier that was dictated by the fact that the Cardinals led by three scores for most of the night. Expect Hopkins to rebound and chip in at least 20 more points this week.

Kenyan Drake, RB, $4,800

Chase Edmonds ($4,900) is more expensive than Drake for the first time all season. Of course, those prices were set before the end of Drake’s outburst against the Cowboys, and now Drake looks like a pretty good bargain. However, looks can be deceiving. Seattle brings a tough run defense, one that has allowed just three rush TDs to RBs all year and only one RB to run for more than 65 yards in a game. Drake still isn’t a factor as a receiver (six catches on eight targets), which severely limits his upside in what should be a points fest. Edmonds has a decent PPR floor, but since he is still seeing only about one-third of the snaps and hasn’t garnered double-digit touches in any game, he’s not exactly safe either. Pay for these backs at your own risk this week.
