Saturday AM update: The Bucs have signed Antonio Brown to a 1-year deal, according to multiple reports.

The rich might be getting richer soon. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been speaking to free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown and are “very close” to getting a deal done, per Ian Rapoport. This comes following Aaron Wilson’s report that Brown was headed to Tampa for a visit.

Brown is suspended through Week 8 for violations of the league’s personal conduct policy. He still faces potential league discipline due to sexual assault allegations, with the league continuing its investigation. Although he could face another suspension, he is free to sign with a team in the meantime.

Brown would join an already loaded Bucs receiver corps that includes Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, as well as tight end Rob Gronkowski. It remains to be seen what value he brings having played a single game last season amidst releases from the Raiders and Patriots. It’s a deep group, but you can never have enough pass catchers.
