Multiple teams dealt with Covid-19 outbreaks ahead of Week 5 of the 2020 NFL season. The league was forced to reschedule games because of positive tests, which resulted in Thursday Night Football being canceled for Week 6. This is the first time there’s been no Thursday Night Football since Week 17 of last season.
Most notable for Week 6 is the rescheduling of Thursday Night Football. The Buffalo Bills were set to face the Kansas City Chiefs on a short week. However, the Tennessee Titans outbreak resulted in Sunday’s Titans-Bills game being moved to Tuesday. That left too short a turnaround for Chiefs-Bills and so the league moved that to Monday, October 19. Several other games were rescheduled, and you can take note of those adjustments here.
The NFL is doing its best to keep the season going and there will likely be more schedule changes as the season moves forward. Don’t be surprised if more bye weeks are shifted and games are bumped back a few days.
