What to do with Bills, Titans, Patriots, Broncos fantasy football options

Multiple outbreaks have two Week 5 games in question. The NFL wants to play the games, but both seem in doubt. You’ll need to adjust your fantasy football lineups appropriately.

Strategy update: Most people likely don’t have much roster flexibility, but if you do, this is the best approach to roster strategy you can have amidst the uncertainty.

Game time moved: The Broncos-Patriots game has been moved to next week, Sunday of Week 6, per Adam Schefter. The league is going to reschedule Broncos-Dolphins to make room for this game.

The NFL faces a serious problem as Sunday has arrived. The New England Patriots have had a player test positive for Covid-19 in Sunday morning results and the Tennessee Titans have had a staff member test positive. Both teams have shut down their facilities while sorting this out.

The Patriots are scheduled to play the Denver Broncos on Monday. The Broncos were going to fly out Sunday morning for Boston, but that is likely now in question. Adam Schefter has reported the NFL still plans on playing the game on Monday, but the game would seem to be in significant question. Odds seem pretty good the game gets postponed out of this week.

The Titans are scheduled to face the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday. The Titans announced a temporary closing of the facility due to the positive while they speak with the league. Adam Schefter is reporting a coach is the positive test. Buffalo would likely fly to Tennessee on Monday or early Tuesday if the game happened.

Fantasy football is not important in the context of this, but it’s nonetheless relevant. If you have any players on those four teams, your best bet is to find replacements for them this week. Both games could still happen, but if you don’t know by 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. ET, you’re going to be left with some goose eggs in your lineup. If you have options you could slot in from later Sunday or Chargers-Saints Monday Night Football, you can wait a little longer to make your decision.
