Derrick Henry bulls over Patriots in Wild Card win

Derrick Henry was a one man gang on Saturday night, as he was unstoppable for much of the evening as the Titans put away the defending champion Patriots 20-13. Tom Brady and the Patriots just didn’t have the horses to put up enough points to keep Henry from slowing the game down and forcing his will on their defense despite the Patriots stacking the box on every play.

Henry rushed for 182 yards on an other-worldly 34 carries and one touchdown, and caught one pass for 22 yards to push his total yardage to 204 yards. Ryan Tannehill completed just 8-of-15 passes for 72 yards, one touchdown and one interception. This was an old school run it down the defense’s throat kind of game.

Tom Brady did little to counter Henry’s big game, as he completed 20-of-37 passes for 209 yards and one interception, which was returned for a touchdown on their last chance to come from behind, down one-point. Brady didn’t look bad, but his receivers could not separate and it was clear that screen passes were the Patriots only weapon and the Titans were able to slow those down as the game went on.

The Titans will head to Baltimore to take on Lamar Jackson and the Ravens in the Divisional round. Their run game should be effective but they will need to figure out a way to slow down Lamar Jackson which not many teams have been able to do.
