Chase Young to leave Ohio State for 2020 NFL Draft

Buckeyes pass rusher is expected to be a top overall selection in this upcoming draft.

Ohio State Buckeyes DE Chase Young has decided to leave Ohio State and enter the 2020 NFL Draft.

In the most least surprising news of the day, Young has opted to leave school in favor of the draft, where he’ll likely be a top 3 overall pick. The Cincinnati Bengals have the No. 1 overall selection, but are believed to be after LSU QB Joe Burrow. If that’s the case, then Young should fall into Washington’s lap at No. 2 overall.

Young, a Heisman trophy finalist, finished his Junior year at Ohio State with 16.5 sacks in 12 games. The Buckeyes made the College Football Playoff, but lost to the defending champion Clemson Tigers in the National Semifinal last Saturday. With the season over, Young didn’t waste much time making his decision. If Young were to make it past both the Bengals and Washington, I imagine the New York Giants or Detroit Lions would be pretty excited to add a franchise pass rusher to their roster.

Young’s former teammate Dwayne Haskins Jr., the starting QB for Washington, has already hinted at a potential reunion.
