The Miami Dolphins have listed wide receiver Albert Wilson as questionable ahead of their Week 1 home matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The sixth-year player has been limited in practice all week with calf and hip problems.
If you recall, it was a hip injury that sent Wilson to injured reserve in Week 8 last year, ending his season. He was dealing with his hip throughout training camp and the preseason as well, and he wasn’t fully cleared until late August. Lingering injuries like that are always a concern for players.
The Dolphins really need Wilson to be healthy and running at full speed this season. This isn’t an offense loaded with weapons, especially after trading away Kenny Stills to the Texans.
Wilson does his best work out of the slot, but Miami’s coach last year, Adam Gase, declined to play him there as much as he should have. That figures to change this season with Gase coaching the Jets. The team has said they plan to have Wilson lined up in the middle for much of his snaps under head coach Brian Flores. While the Dolphins won’t be much to see this season, Wilson’s speed should provide some nice YAC production and good numbers for your fantasy team.
Fantasy impact: Wilson was one of the most popular waiver adds this week, despite a matchup with against the Ravens. He could be a nice third option in your lineup, and with a DK salary of just $3,900, a potential steal for your DFS lineup. However, if you’re thinking about playing him this week, keep an eye on his status.
