Big names remain atop running back PPR rankings

The running back position has its share of under-the-radar performers, but Week 1 saw a host of big names meet fantasy football expectations. We break down who moved where in our Week 2 PPR rankings.

The running back position was dominated mostly by the names we expected in Week 1. You’ll notice the top of the list for this week’s fantasy football rankings are most of the guys drafted at the top of our season-long leagues. Big names tend to hit like that.

Austin Ekeler gave the biggest breakout performance, earning plenty of touches, and finding his way into the end zone three times against the Colts. Josh Jacobs also gets a big boost, as the Raiders showed us on MNF that they plan to use the rookie from Alabama in a featured role — gaining over 100 total yards and two scores on 24 touches.

Chris Carson and Dalvin Cook remain high in the rankings despite entering more difficult matchups, simply because of their teams’ game plans. Seattle and Minnesota clearly proved its offenses will be focused on running the ball in 2019. Big things are expected from both.
