Bengals all but clinch top spot in 2020 NFL Draft as Giants thump Dolphins

The Bengals lost and the Giants won in Week 15, which all but clinches the top spot in the 2020 NFL Draft. We break down where things stand heading into Week 16.

The NFL is coming down the home stretch with one more game left to wrap up Week 15. Monday Night Football features the Colts and Saints squaring off with significant playoff implications on the line for both teams.

This article is about something decidedly different. The No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft order is just about settled after Sunday’s games. The Giants crushed the Dolphins, and that coupled with the Bengals loss to the Patriots means Cincinnati now has a two-game lead for the top spot. There are two weeks left in the season, and while closing the season with wins over Miami and Cleveland is possible, it seems unlikely.

The Giants, Dolphins, and Washington are now all tied for spots two through four. The Lions are a half game back and then Cardinals are another game back of them. Although the Bengals have all but locked up the top spot, Week 16 brings a sort of Toilet Bowl semifinals. The Dolphins host the Bengals and Washington hosts the Giants. What a fun day of football!

Here’s the draft order for the top six teams heading into Week 16. SOS via Tankathon.
