The Houston Texans host the Indianapolis Colts in the first of three prime time games this week with sizable playoff implications. Texans-Colts kicks things off on Thursday Night Football, Packers-49ers wraps up Sunday, and Ravens-Rams closes out the week on Monday Night Football. All three will shake up the AFC and NFC playoff races heading into the final five weeks of the season.

The Texans and Colts are currently tied atop the AFC South with 6-4 records. The Texans lost to the Ravens last week while the Colts beat the Jaguars to climb into a tie. The Colts won the first matchup between these two in Indianapolis, so this game either gives them the head-to-head tiebreaker or events up the tiebreaker for the final stretch.

Although the two teams are tied at 6-4, the Texans are getting the edge when it comes to playoff odds. DraftKings Sportsbook offers odds on each team to make the playoffs, win the division, win the conference, and win the Super Bowl. In all four, the Texans are given a slight edge. They’re hosting this matchup, so even with five weeks, they can get a slight lead on things. Divisional record is the second tiebreaker, and both teams would be 3-1 if the Texans win on Thursday. It then goes into common games, conference record, strength of victory, strength of schedule, and so on.

For this game, the Texans are a 3.5-point favorite. The Texans are installed at -200 on the money line, while the Colts are +163. The Texans are awaiting game-day word on Will Fuller’s hamstring, while the Colts are awaiting word on the injury statuses of T.Y. Hilton (calf) and Eric Ebron (ankle).
