We officially have a two-team race for the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Cincinnati Bengals lost to maintain their lead and remain winless in 2019. Meanwhile, Washington lost to the Jets in a battle that could have gone a long way toward locking things up for the Bengals. Instead, Washington remains a game back and doing what they can to compete for that pick.
There are still six weeks left in the football season, but barring something unexpected, it’s hard to see a third team climbing into this. The Giants and Dolphins both sit at 2-8 with six teams behind them with three wins. Miami faces both the Giants and the three-win Jets in the next few weeks. The Giants face Washington the week after their matchup with the Dolphins game. Washington seems worse than the Giants at this point. Miami and the Giants would seem to be in prime competition for that third overall pick.
We don’t get much in the way of a Toilet Bowl on the Week 12 schedule.
Here’s the draft order for the top ten teams, all of whom have no more than three wins through Week 10. None of the three win teams really has a shot at the top pick, but I figure a full top ten makes sense considering how many teams still have a shot at a top five draft picks. SOS via Tankathon.
