Free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick conducted a workout in front of media and an unknown number of NFL executives on Saturday, and at least one personnel person came away impressed. An NFL executive on hand told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Kaepernick threw the ball well and had the same elite arm talent he had coming out of college when he was a second round pick of the San Francisco 49ers. Additionally, some scouts offered positive feedback to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora.
After today’s workout in Atlanta, an NFL executive at Colin Kaepernick’s throwing session said his arm talent is “elite” and is the same as when he came out of college. He said that Kaepernick threw the ball well.

Philadelphia Eagles VP of football operations Andrew Berry was spotted at the workout. Additionally representatives from the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets were spotted at the workout. It had moved from the Atlanta Falcons facility to a high school an hour away after the NFL refused certain transparency requests. Hue Jackson had been planning on running the event but elected to go back to the airport after it was moved.
Kaepernick made a variety of passes throughout the workout, including short, intermediate, and deep. Here is one example of a deep ball that showed off his arm strength and touch.
