Saints, Chiefs hurt their chances at a first round bye with Week 10 losses

The NFL is chugging along through Week 10 of the 2019 regular season. We’ve got the latest look at the playoff picture as only one undefeated team remains heading into Monday Night Football.

The NFL wrapped up its tenth Sunday fo the 2019 season, and we close out Week 10 with a fun Monday Night Football contest featuring playoff contenders. The 49ers host the Seahawks on Monday, and both teams would love a leg up with a win. The 49ers are 8-0 and could take a two game lead on the Saints and a game and a half lead on the Packers for the best record in the NFC. The Seahawks are 7-2 and a win would move them to within a game of the 49ers in the NFC West. A loss drops them three back with seven games remaining.

Nobody clinched anything this week and tonight won’t close anything out, but the playoff picture is rounding into focus. Plenty will change over the final seven weeks, but the good and bad teams are starting to separate out.

We had a huge upset this week with the Falcons going into New Orleans and thumping the Saints. Atlanta never trailed in the game as Drew Brees and company looked absolutely ordinary. The Saints do get a game with the 49ers in early December, but two back is not where they want to be.

The biggest win of the day though might go to the Vikings. They edged out the Cowboys 28-24 on Sunday Night Football to improve to 7-3. They remain a game back of the Packers in the NFC North, but they improve to a game and a half up on several NFC wild card contenders.

In the AFC, we saw three big wins shake things up a bit. The Chiefs lost in Tennessee and while they remain in first place in the AFC West, they are now only a half game up on the Raiders. The Dolphins stunned the Colts and the Browns held off the Bills, dropping Indy into a wild card tie and Buffalo to just a game up with the top wild card spot. Things are tightening up for those two wild card berths.
