The Tennessee Titans are making a quarterback change that is not at all surprising. The team is replacing Marcus Mariota with Ryan Tannehill as starting quarterback in Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to NFL Network reporters.
Tannehill replaced Mariota this past Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Mariota completed 7 of 18 passes, throwing for 63 yards and two interceptions. In replacing Mariota in the third quarter, Tannehill completed 13 of 16 passes for 144 yards and one interception.
Fantasy football analysis, Titans QB Ryan Tannehill
This is not a shocking change, but it shows the problems this team faces on offense. Corey Davis and A.J. Brown have struggled to get going with any consistency. Derrick Henry is struggling of late after a solid opening to the season. Switching to Tannehill won’t make much of a difference at this point.
Gambling analysis
The Titans are a 1.5-point home favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook. The Chargers defense ranks 27th against the pass. Quarterbacks can swing numbers a bit, but Mariota has not done a whole lot to offer any indication he’s worth swinging this line much. Tannehill is not inspiring in his own right, but both are looking like the pu pu platter of quarterbacks. This decision shouldn’t really swing your betting decision much.
