The No. 5 Cleveland Browns head to NRG Stadium on Saturday, January 13 to take on the No. 4 Houston Texans in the Wild Card round of the 2024 NFL playoffs. The Texans clinched the AFC South with a win over the Colts in Week 18. The Browns defeated Houston earlier this season, 36-22, but Texans quarterback CJ Stroud missed that matchup due to an injury.

The Browns enter as 2.5-point road favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET, and the game will air on NBC.

ATS Pick: Browns -2.5

While a CJ Stroud-led Texans team is not the same team the Browns beat a few weeks ago, I still think Cleveland comes out on top here. The Joe Flacco era has been quite the pleasant and unexpected surprise for Browns fans this season, and added some much-needed offensive momentum to Cleveland’s already-tough defense.

Stroud is missing some of his top receivers as the Texans head into the playoffs. Tank Dell broke his leg in early December, and Noah Brown is still not practicing after several weeks spent on the sidelines with a back injury. The Browns’ defense is a formidable unit, and held Devin Singletary to just 44 yards on the ground on Christmas Eve. Stroud’s presence can’t change that.

I’m taking the Browns to advance. The winner of this game also has a good shot of facing the No. 1 Baltimore Ravens.
