Texans vs. Jets, Week 14: Pick against the spread

Houston (7-5) has won four of its last five and was able to hold off the red-hot Broncos in a 22-17 victory last Sunday. The Broncos were knocking on the door for a potential go-ahead touchdown in the final minute before Jimmie Ward came through with a clutch interception off Russell Wilson with 16 seconds remaining. With the win, the Texans remained smack dab in the middle of the AFC Wild Card hunt and sit just one game back of the Jaguars for the AFC South lead.

New York (4-8) is fading out of the AFC playoff picture and dropped its fifth straight game in a 13-8 loss to the Falcons last Sunday. It was yet another miserable day on offense as Tim Boyle couldn’t spark much of anything on offense. Boyle has since been released as the Jets will turn back to Zach Wilson for Sunday’s game.

The Pick: Texans -3.5

Just based on vibes, these two teams couldn’t be in any more of a different place right now. Houston is ascending and is finding ways to win in all three phases of the game. Meanwhile, morale in New York is plummeting with each passing week and it wouldn’t be a shock if this team went into “1-2-3 Cancun!” mode pretty soon. With the Jets' offense non-existent, I think the Texans cover the spread easily in this one.
