Panthers vs. Saints, Week 14: Pick against the spread
The Panthers have had a season to forget and are playing for pride. They have been officially eliminated from playoff contention but can focus on the development of QB Bryce Young and still play spoiler for playoff-hopeful teams. Carolina is coming off a three-point loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Saints have dropped three games in a row and recently lost by five to the Detroit Lions. Starting quarterback Derek Carr was knocked out of the game with a concussion and rib and shoulder injuries. If he can clear the protocols, he is expected to play in this game. New Orleans didn’t have starting running back Alvin Kamara the first time these teams played.
The Pick: Saints -5
I’m assuming that Carr will be playing in this game. If he isn’t, I’d expect the line to move to Saints -3 as a result, and I would still take that. Carolina’s defense could keep this game close, but they still don’t have an offensive identity heading into Week 14, and Kamara should be in for a big day for the Saints.
