The Green Bay Packers (7-8) will take on the Minnesota Vikings (7-8) for Week 17’s Sunday Night Football game. Kickoff from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota is set for 8:20 p.m. ET, and the game will air on NBC. This is the second of two divisional matchups between these teams with Minnesota winning the first in Week 8, 24-10.
The Vikings are one-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook. Minnesota has -118 moneyline odds, while Green Bay is installed as the -102 underdog. The point total is set at 43.
Packers vs. Vikings, Week 17: Pick against the spread
Green Bay is coming off a three-point win over the Carolina Panthers. Starting running back Aaron Jones returned to form and tallied 127 yards on 21 carries. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs led the Packers with 79 receiving yards and a touchdown on four receptions. Quarterback Jordan Love finished 17-of-28 for 219 yards and two touchdowns and punched in another touchdown on the ground.
Minnesota will be making another change under center. The Vikings will be going back to rookie quarterback Jaren Hall after Nick Mullens was unable to get the job done. Minnesota also won’t have tight end T.J. Hockenson as he suffered a season-ending torn ACL/MCL and was added to injured reserve this week. Still, Minnesota will have Justin Jefferson and KJ Osborn to lean on as they hope that rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison can suit up despite his ankle injury.
The Pick: Packers +1
Green Bay should cover on the road and either lose in a close game, tie, or pick up the outright win. The Packers are healthier, which isn’t something they’re accustomed to saying this season. Minnesota won the Week 8 game 24-10, but that was the last game that starting quarterback Kirk Cousins was able to play this year. Hall was briefly under center in Week 9 and finished 5-of-6 passing for 78 yards before getting hurt. Green Bay should cover in this game if they can get into a rhythm on offense, and shake the defensive woes that have plagued them recently.
