Week 13 of the NFL season brings us some high-stakes games, but also some duds. This one is between the New England Patriots (2-9), who welcome in a foe from the West Coast, the Los Angeles Chargers (4-7).
This matchup between the two teams doesn’t have a lot at stake in terms of the playoff picture, but it does have the first pick in the NFL Draft implications. Here’s how we think the game will go down.

Chargers vs. Patriots, Week 13: Pick against the spread
The Chargers are coming off of a tough loss to the top seed in the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens. Despite the lopsided final score, the Chargers hung around and had a chance to take a late lead. Quarterback Justin Herbert hasn’t had a sensational year, but the Chargers have good weapons on offense but just have not been able to put them together regularly. Though this week may bring a soft landing against a struggling Patriots squad.
New England has been a total mess this season. Their first win came against the helpless New York Jets and their second was a shocking upset earlier in the season over the Buffalo Bills. They’ve still yet to win a game outside of the AFC East and it’s unlikely that will start now. The Patriots have lost four straight, with their final three coming by one score. It’s unclear exactly who will be QB for them this week, with Mac Jones starting the last two games but was benched in each of the losses.
