The Jacksonville Jaguars (7-3) will have their hands full this week when they hit the road for an AFC South showdown against the Houston Texans (6-4). The Texans have been the surprise of the NFL this season led by a rookie quarterback and head coach. The Jaguars have had some ugly losses, but they’re looking to make themselves one of the premiere teams in the AFC. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET from NRG Stadium in Houston Texas.

Jaguars vs. Texans, Week 12: Pick against the spread
The Jaguars are 7-3 on the year, but they aren’t often talked about as one of the elite teams in the conference. They were the favorites to win the AFC South, but they will need to hold off the upstart Texans squad. QB Trevor Lawrence was expected by many to take another step forward and be in the MVP conversation this season, but he hasn’t been able to do that. This season, he’s completing 68 percent of his passes for 2,382 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions. The Jaguars are averaging 23 points per game this season, which ranks 11th in the league. The Jaguars defeated the Tennessee Titans last week 34-14.
The Texans have been the biggest surprise of the entire NFL. No one could have seen this coming with rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud and rookie head coach DeMeco Ryans. Stroud has completed 62 percent of his passes for 2,962 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He has developed a nice connection with fellow rookie wide receiver Tank Dell, who has caught 42 passes for 659 yards and six touchdowns. The Texans has a come-from-behind win in Week 11, defeating the Arizona Cardinals 21-16.
