Ben Hall gives their pick against the spread for Packers vs. Lions in Week 12.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) passes the ball against the Detroit Lions Tork Mason-USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions will face off on Thanksgiving for Week 12. This is the 22nd time these two teams will face off on Thanksgiving as the Lions lead that series 12-8-1. The last time these two matched up on Thanksgiving was 2013. Kickoff from Ford Field is set for 12:30 p.m. ET and will air on Fox.

Detroit is a 7.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook and the total sits at 47. On the moneyline, the Lions are -375 while the Packers are +295.

Packers vs. Lions, Week 12: Pick against the spread

It’s been an up and down season for the Packers. They’re coming off their best win of the season where they took down the Los Angeles Chargers. Jordan Love has played great football over the past two weeks. We’ve seen a lot of different wide receivers involved as well. 10 different guys caught passes in their win over the Chargers on Sunday. Daontayvion Wicks caught three passes for 91 yards. Their defense came to play as well and that was without Jaire Alexander who they hope can return this week.

Detroit was being viewed as one of the best teams in the NFL a few weeks ago. It’s too early to write them off as a Super Bowl contender, but they need to fix some things. They beat the Chicago Bears 31-26 in a game where they were down 12 points with four minutes to go. Divisional matchups are always tough, but the struggles against a bad team were concerning. Their biggest concerns are on defense right now and it will be interesting to see how they play against an improving Packers offense.

The Pick: Packers +7.5

The hook pushes me in favor of the Packers here. I think this is a tight game that comes down to the final minutes. Green Bay has been playing better football and it wouldn't shock me to see them go into Detroit and pull off the upset. If Alexander is back, that secondary gets a massive boost as well. Watch for a tight game that comes down to a game winning field goal for either side. Take Green Bay and the points.
