The Dallas Cowboys (6-3) will hit the road to face the Carolina Panthers (1-8) in Week 11 of the NFL season. Kickoff from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, November 19.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Cowboys are favored by 10.5 points on the road. Below, we’ll break down whether that’s too much or not while giving our top pick against the spread for this NFC matchup.
Cowboys vs. Panthers, Week 11: Pick against the spread
The Cowboys stand at 6-4 on the season after winning three of their last four games. Most recently, Dallas crushed the New York Giants by a score of 49-17 last Sunday. QB Dak Prescott was terrific in that contest, throwing for 404 yards and four touchdowns with WR CeDee Lamb accounting for 151 of those yards and Brandin Cooks coming through with 173. The Cowboys have beaten up the lesser competition this year, as five of their six wins have come by 20+ points.
It has been a rough go for the Panthers in 2023, but the team has shown some improvement over the last month, especially on defense. Carolina outlasted the Houston Texans by a score of 15-13 in Week 8, but they came up short at the Chicago Bears by a score of 16-13 last Thursday. The offense continues to struggle, as the Panthers scored with two field goals and a punt return for a touchdown in that matchup. Now, Carolina has a very extra days to prepare for this home matchup against the Cowboys.
Dallas is more than capable of blowing this game wide-open and winning another contest with 20+ points. However, one has to wonder if they’ll throttle it down with a Thanksgiving matchup coming up on Thursday. I don’t expect that to be the case, as the Cowboys’ offense is firing on all cylinders, and it’s hard to believe the Panthers’ underwhelming offense can keep up.
