Latest injury updates for Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert ahead of Wild Card game vs. Chiefs

The Dolphins RB is dealing with lower-body injuries going into the Wild Card round vs. the Chiefs. We break down the news for fantasy football and betting.

Miami Dolphins RB Raheem Mostert was limited at practice on Tuesday due to a knee/ankle injury ahead of the AFC Wild Card matchup vs. the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night. Mostert has been held out the past two games due to injury, missing the regular-season finale vs. the Bills. We’ll be giving you the latest updates and analysis for Mostert heading into the postseason game.

Mostert has been one of the top backs in the NFL this season (especially if you drafted him in fantasy football). Despite the missed games, Mostert still finished top-10 in rushing with 1,012 yards and first in touchdowns, both rushing and total (18, 21). With Mostert out, the Dolphins dropped back-to-back games to end the season, missing out on the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Instead, Miami goes on the road in very cold conditions to take on the defending champion Chiefs.

With the limited practice, it looks like Mostert will be good to return. WRs Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill were also limited, which is a good sign. With Mostert back, expect De’Von Achane to take a back seat and be the change-of-pace back. Mostert gets most of the early-down and goal-line work. It’s important the Dolphins have Mostert and Achane healthy given the cold temps. The Dolphins should look to establish the run on the road and take a few shots deep in the passing game.

Achane was good in the two losses, rushing for a total 163 yards on 24 carries with a touchdown (6.6 yards per carry). Jeff Wilson Jr. was the RB2 who spelled Achane in those games. He rushed for 66 yards on 12 carries with Mostert out the past two games. Also pretty effective. Wilson likely sees fewer (if any) snaps on offense in Kansas City this weekend if Mostert is back.

Raheem Mostert injury updates

Thursday update: Mostert is questionable for Saturday night’s game. Head coach Mike McDaniel is “optimistic” that the running back will be able to play.

Wednesday update: Mostert was limited in practice on Wednesday again. He will have one more day of practice ahead of Saturday’s game.

Tuesday update: Mostert was limited in practice on Tuesday with a knee and ankle injury.
