Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk has been on injured reserve since early December after he sustained a core muscle injury that required surgery. The Jaguars opened the 21-day practice window to return from IR on Wednesday ahead of their Week 18 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars are competing for an AFC South title this week.

Christian Kirk injury updates

Saturday update — Kirk has been activated off IR and is expected to play in Week 18 vs. the Titans on Sunday. This is good news for a Jags team that needs a win in order to get into the playoffs and win the AFC South. The Texans and Colts play each other to decide one of the Wild Card spots in the AFC playoffs. QB Trevor Lawrence is also questionable and could be held out. Having Kirk back is a big boost for the offense.

Kirk could be available as soon as Sunday for the Jaguars. They take on the Tennessee Titans as they attempt to secure a top-four seed in the NFC. Kirk has 787 receiving yards and three touchdowns this season, behind just Calvin Ridley and Evan Engram.

Fantasy football analysis

Most fantasy leagues are over, but Kirk’s presence could still affect daily fantasy lineups and the stray Week 18 championship. We also may see a decrease in earnings from the last few weeks from Calvin Ridley, who will go back to splitting targets more evenly with Kirk. Zay Jones may also take a fantasy hit.

Betting analysis

Kirk’s presence is a big positive for the Jaguars in overall betting. They enter as 5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook. If he returns to the field this week, his presence could also affect receiving yard and TD props for other wide receivers.
