The Houston Texans will hit the road this Sunday for their Week 14 matchup against the New York Jets and the status of tight end Dalton Schultz is up in the air heading into the contest. The veteran has been dealing with a hamstring injury and it has limited his ability to practice this week.
Dalton Schultz injury updates
Friday PM update: Schultz, as expected, has been ruled out. Brevin Jordan will again take the lead TE role, this week against the Jets in what could be a windy and rainy day.
Friday update: Schultz was not spotted at practice on Friday, marking the second straight day that he has missed ahead of their Week 14 showdown. He was initially listed as a limited participant on Wednesday, so two straight DNP’s is not a good sign for his ability to suit up.
Fantasy football analysis
Schultz has been an excellent red-zone target for rookie quarterback CJ Stroud and his potential absence could have a big effect on both the Texans’ offense and fantasy managers alike. He entered Week 14 as the No. 12 fantasy TE in PPR leagues, hauling in 40 targets for 455 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 10.3 FP per game.
If he’s unable to go, then backup Brevin Jordan will step up in his place. Jordan is rostered in just 7% of fantasy leagues and should be readily available for pick up ahead of Sunday.
