The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills for their Week 14 showdown this Sunday and starting running back Isaiah Pacheco is dealing with a shoulder injury ahead of the contest.

Isiah Pacheco injury updates

Friday PM update: Pacheco is officially out. This will elevate Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon to fantasy roles.

Friday update: Pacheco was not spotted at practice on Friday, per Adam Teicher. This would be his third straight missed practice. We’ll learn if he is out or questionable in the next few hours, but it doesn’t look good at this point.

Thursday update: Pacheco will miss his second straight day of practice this afternoon, per Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star. He was an unexpected addition to the injury report on Wednesday coming off their 27-19 loss to the Packers last Sunday. His status on Friday should ultimately determine whether or not he’ll be able to go this week.

Fantasy football analysis

With the fantasy playoffs approaching, Pacheco’s shoulder injury could swing some things for several managers trying to qualify for the postseason. He entered this week as the No. 7 fantasy RB in standard leagues, racking up 779 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns on the season. He broke off 110 yards and a TD before being ejected late in the aforementioned loss to the Packers.

If he’s unable to go, then Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon would pick up the slack and both should be readily available with less than 25% rostership in fantasy leagues.

Betting analysis

Pacheco’s potential absence could mean a few more designed runs for Patrick Mahomes, so taking the over on the QB’s rushing yards would be a good prop to lock in for Sunday.
