The Philadelphia Eagles will hit the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys for Sunday Night Football in Week 14 of the NFL season. The Eagles are coming off a loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 13, but are expected to get back a key piece to the offense. Tight end Dallas Goedert has been sidelined after getting surgery on his forearm, but says he will be back this week.
Dallas Goedert injury updates
Friday update: Goedert has been removed from the injury report and should be a full go against the Cowboys. His presence could hurt Devonta Smith’s fantasy upside.
Wednesday update: Goedert says that “Dallas in Dallas has a ring to it,” and he will be playing this week. He has missed three games, but Philadelphia never added him to injured reserve. They hoped that Goedert would be able to return by this matchup and he seems on track to.
Fantasy football analysis
Despite playing in only nine games this year, Goedert is still the overall TE16 in half-PPR scoring. He has brought in 38 of his 52 targets for 410 yards and two touchdowns. Goedert will resume his role as a reliable option for quarterback Jalen Hurts. He will still likely be third in line for targets after A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
Dallas gives up middle-of-the-road numbers to opposing tight ends. Goedert is a worthy addition to a Week 14 fantasy football lineup from expected target share. He doesn’t have much competition at the position, so if he is able to play without hesitation, there is upside. The Cowboys’ defense allowed three receptions for 43 yards to Seattle Seahawks tight ends in Week 13, and Goedert is a more talented tight end with a bigger role in the offense.
