Chris Godwin is dealing with a neck injury for Week 13. We break down what it means for fantasy football and betting.

Pregame update: Chris Godwin is indeed active and will play in today’s game against the Panthers.

Game day update: Chris Godwin is expected to play on Sunday vs. the Panthers, but the team will confirm after pre-game warmups, per Adam Schefter.

It’s going to be a game-time decision this week for Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin. The veteran started the week seemingly find, but he showed up as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice, before missing Friday’s session entirely. Apparently, it’s a neck injury that flared up this week. He’s listed as questionable on the injury report.

The Bucs are at home against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. That game kicks off at 4:05 p.m. ET, so you’ll have to make fantasy football decisions accordingly.

Chris Godwin injury

Fantasy football analysis

Godwin’s numbers have suffered this season. Last week, he had just 45 yards on three catches, despite seven targets, and his best game of the season so far was a 77-yard outing against the Lions in Week 6. He’s scored just one touchdown.

If he can’t play, Trey Palmer could see a few more targets this week.

NFL DFS analysis

At $6,300 in DraftKings leagues, I’d be cautious about having him in my lineup this week. The ceiling just hasn’t been there this season to justify the risk. Mike Evans is dominating among all Bucs pass catchers.

Betting analysis

The Bucs are five-point favorites here, and I don’t see Godwin’s injury having much impact on the spread or the over/under at 37 points.
