Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered an ankle injury in today’s Week 13 matchup against the Denver Broncos. The rookie had to be carted off the field to the locker room.

Tank Dell injury updates

Update: Awful news for Dell, as it is already being reported that he fractured his fibula in Sunday’s game. He will be heading to injured reserve.

Update: Dell has been officially ruled out. This injury appears to be onr that could keep him out multiple games, but we’ll wait to see an official diagnosis.

Update: Dell has been officially ruled as questionable to return to today’s contest.

Dell got his ankle/leg crushed while blocking during Dameon Pierce’s touchdown run that put Houston up 10-0 early in the first quarter. He was attended to by trainers on the field for a few minutes before a cart was eventually brought out to bring him to the locker room.

It appears that his day is over and it could be a devastating blow to a Texans team that is right in the thick of the AFC playoff race. Dell has been one of the more electric rookie receivers this season, catching 47 passes for 709 yards and seven touchdowns heading into this afternoon’s contest. We should find out the severity of this injury in the coming days.

Fantasy football impact

If Dell misses time, that could open up the door for even more targets for Nico Collins. He’s already a top 20 wideout in PPR leagues and already has over 100 receiving yards in this game. Noah Brown was activated for today’s game after missing the past few weeks with a knee injury and he’s rostered in just 37.3% of fantasy leagues.
