The Washington Commanders are taking on the Miami Dolphins in Week 13. To add injury to insult in an early blowout, running back Brian Robinson Jr. is dealing with a hamstring injury. While he is sidelined, Antonio Gibson will likely be the prime beneficiary and get the bulk of the carries.

Before the injury, Robinson had played well in a tough matchup. He had seven carries for 53 yards. Robinson wasn’t part of the passing game in the first half. Gibson and Chris Rodriguez Jr. will take over as the main running backs as Washington plays for pride in the second half, down 31 early in the third quarter.

Update: Robinson Jr. has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Fantasy football impact

Despite Washington having a down year, Robinson has excelled in fantasy football. He came into Week 13 as the overall RB5 in half-PPR. We don’t know exactly when he injured his hamstring, but it feels like getting ruled out happened quickly. That could be because there isn’t a reason for him to play in the blowout, or it could suggest the injury is serious.

Gibson held down the Commanders’ backfield for a few seasons but has been an afterthought this year. He is the overall RB42 this season, and Rodriguez Jr. is the overall RB87. Between the two, Gibson would be the one to add to your fantasy football leagues, and he is rostered in 44.6% of ESPN leagues.
