Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison is dealing with an ankle injury ahead of Sunday’s Week 17 matchup against the Green Bay Packers. The rookie tweaked his ankle in the second quarter of last Sunday’s 30-24 loss to the Detroit Lions and did not return to the contest.
The Vikings are trying to avoid being eliminated from playoff contention this weekend.
Jordan Addison injury updates
Friday update: Addison has officially been ruled as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Packers. He missed practice on Wednesday before being a limited participant on both Thursday and Friday. We should get official word on his final status on Sunday afternoon.
Fantasy football analysis
Both the Vikings and fantasy managers cannot afford to lose Addison with their respective seasons on the line this weekend. The rookie wideout has been electric this year, hauling in 63 targets for 826 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. That has made him the No. 17 WR in standard fantasy leagues and the No. 22 WR in PPR formats.
With tight end TJ Hockenson already ruled out, star wideout Justin Jefferson would have even more pressure to carry the passing game if Addison weren’t able to go. The Packers would certainly double and triple team him in that scenario, opening the door for KJ Osborn to get plenty of looks.
