The Seattle Seahawks will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17 of the NFL season. Seattle has an eye on the playoffs, but can’t afford to look past the tough Steelers defense. The Seahawks could be without wide receiver DK Metcalf as he was a late add to the team’s injury report.

DK Metcalf injury updates

Friday PM update: Metcalf appears set to play despite not practicing.

Friday update: Metcalf is officially questionable for Week 17 against the Steelers. This is a big game for the playoffs, so Metcalf will likely play, but we will still need to wait to see.

Thursday update: Metcalf wasn’t included on the injury report to begin the week but then was downgraded to not practicing on Thursday due to a back injury. He will have Friday to improve to avoid an injury designation heading into the weekend.

Fantasy football analysis

Metcalf has played in 14 games this season. He has brought in 60 of his 113 targets for 998 yards and eight touchdowns. Metcalf heads into Week 17 as the overall WR17 in half-PPR scoring. The Steelers allow the 16th most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. If Metcalf is active, he can be started in 10-team leagues or larger.

If Metcalf doesn’t play, Tyler Lockett and rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba figure to get more targets. Lockett can be started in 12-team leagues or larger, while Smith-Njigba would be startable in leagues with at least 14 teams.
