The Las Vegas Raiders will visit the Indianapolis Colts for their Week 17 matchup this Sunday and running back Josh Jacobs is still dealing with a quad injury ahead of the matchup. Jacobs sustained the injury during their 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings earlier in the month and has missed the previous two games for the Silver and Black.

Josh Jacobs injury updates

Friday PM update: Despite interim head coach Antonio Pierce telling reporters that Jacobs would be a game-time decision, he has been listed as doubtful for Week 17. That means he should be out. It’s worth keeping an eye on the situation, but Zamir White should be in line for another start this week.

Friday update: Jacobs will be a game-time decision, per Vic Tafur. He seemed close to playing last week, but didn’t and this week he hasn’t practiced much. The Raiders still have a slim chance of making the playoffs, so Jacobs will likely play if he can. The game is a 1pm matchup on Sunday, so we will know his status before needing to set fantasy lineups.

Thursday update: Jacobs did not practice this afternoon, the second straight day he has been listed as a DNP on the injury report. The way things are trending, it’s looking like he’ll will not be available for a third straight week. His status on Friday should determine his status.

Fantasy football analysis

The Raiders are once again trying to avoid being eliminated from playoff contention this week and could really use their top running back on the field.. He’s approaching another 1,000-yard season on the ground, entering Week 17 with 805 rushing yards and six touchdowns on the year. If you’re a fantasy manager with Jacobs on your roster, you’ve probably already figured out a contingency plan by now and will probable need to turn to other options again if he’s declared out for this matchup.

If Jacobs misses Sunday’s game against the Colts, then that presents another opportunity for Zamir White to shine. He broke off 145 rushing yards in Monday’s 20-14 victory over the Chiefs.
