Ravens WR Zay Flowers is dealing with a calf injury going into Week 17 vs. the Dolphins. We break down the news for fantasy football and betting.

The Baltimore Ravens will take on the Miami Dolphins in a huge AFC matchup in Week 17. If Baltimore can win, they will lock down the No. 1 overall seed for the playoffs, which brings a first-round bye. The Ravens could be missing some firepower from its offense as rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers is dealing with a calf injury.

Zay Flowers injury updates

Friday PM update: Flowers was able to get in a limited practice on Friday and is listed as questionable to face the Dolphins. The good news is that beat writer Jamison Hensley says Flowers is “trending in the right direction.” We should expect him to play in a game that would give the Ravens the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Friday update: Flowers returned to practice today, per Jeff Zrebiec. This late in the season it’s not out of the norm to see players get a little extra rest for injuries and this is a huge game against the Dolphins. If I had to guess, Flowers will play, but we are still waiting on more word.

Thursday update: Flowers is not practicing on Thursday. He will have one more day to get back to the practice field and avoid an injury designation heading into the weekend.

Wednesday update: Flowers is beginning the week not practicing, but that has been typical for his practice weeks. For now, there isn’t much cause for concern.

Fantasy football analysis

With tight end Mark Andrews sidelined with an injury, Flowers has taken a step forward in the offense. He has played in 15 games this season and has brought in 74 of his 105 targets for 752 yards and four touchdowns. Flowers leads the team in receptions, targets, and yards and is tied for second with touchdowns.

Flowers heads into Week 17 as the overall WR30 in half-PPR scoring. The Dolphins allow the 15th most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. If he is active, Flowers can be started in 12-team leagues and larger. If he sits, Odell Beckham Jr. would take over as the top wide receiver and could then be a flex play in 12-team leagues. If Flowers misses the game, Nelson Agholor would become an interesting DFS play and startable in 14-team leagues or larger.
