The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 16 of the NFL season. The Chiefs’ offense has been all over the place this season. At least recently, they have been missing starting running back Isiah Pacheco, who has been dealing with a shoulder contusion. If he can return this week against the Raiders, he may be able to help Kansas City avoid an obvious trap game.

Isiah Pacheco injury updates

Saturday update: After three full practices this week, Pacheco is off the injury report and good to go for Monday’s game.

Thursday update: Pacheco returned to practice on Thursday, per Pete Sweeney. The expectation is that the running back will play on Monday against the Raiders.

Fantasy football analysis

Kansas City has become more of a pass-heavy team, but Pacheco’s value was definitely on display when he wasn’t available the last two weeks. He has played in 12 games this season and has 779 yards and six touchdowns on 176 carries. Pacheco has brought in 33 of his 38 targets for 209 yards and another score.

Pacheco is the overall RB18 in half-PPR scoring. Las Vegas’ defense allows the 10th most fantasy points to opposing running backs. If Pacheco is healthy, he can be started in 8-team leagues or larger. If he is inactive, Jerick McKinnon and Clyde Edwards-Helaire will remain the starting running backs. McKinnon has flex appeal in 12-team PPR leagues or larger, but CEH should only be started in 20-team leagues.
