The New England Patriots will take on the Denver Broncos for Week 16’s Sunday Night Football. The Patriots have been eliminated from playoff contention, but are playing for pride at this point. Quarterback Bailey Zappe could be down one of his best weapons in the passing game as tight end Hunter Henry is dealing with a knee injury.

Hunter Henry injury updates

Saturday update: Henry has been downgraded to out. Mike Gesicki will likely take over as the top tight end.

Friday update: Henry is listed as questionable heading into the weekend.

Thursday update: Henry didn’t practice again on Thursday. Without some form of practice on Friday, it would be unlikely that he would play in this matchup.

Wednesday update: Henry didn’t participate in practice on Thursday. He has plenty of time to get back to the practice field in time to suit up for Sunday’s game.

Fantasy football analysis

Henry has played in 14 games and has come down with 42 of his 61 targets for 419 yards with six touchdowns. He heads into this week as the overall TE13 in half-PPR scoring. Denver allows the most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. If he is active, Henry can be started in 12-team leagues or larger. If he sits, Mike Gesicki would take over as the top tight end, but I don’t know that I have as much faith in him in the offense. Gesicki shouldn’t be started unless you’re playing in 20-team leagues or larger.
