Monday kickoff update: Hurts appears ready to “rock.”

Monday PM update: Hurts will be active, per Jeff McLane.

Monday afternoon update: ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on the Pat McAfee Show that Jalen Hurts is going to try to give it a go this evening, but his status is still unclear.

The Philadelphia Eagles will visit the Seattle Seahawks for their Week 15 matchup this evening and quarterback Jalen Hurts is listed as questionable with an illness. He was a full participant in practice throughout the week, but was a late addition to the injury report on Saturday. He flew separately from the team to avoid anyone else getting sick and the team is hopeful that he’ll be able to suit up.

We’ll go over what his status could mean from a fantasy and betting standpoint below.

Jalen Hurts injury

Fantasy football analysis

Hurts is right in the thick of the MVP race for good reason, as he entered Week 15 as the No. 2 fantasy QB with an average of 23.2 FP per game. He’s thrown for 3,192 passing yards, ran for 460 rushing yards, and has accounted for 31 touchdowns on the year. His worst performance of the season came in last Sunday’s 33-13 loss against the Cowboys, a game where he fumbled once and had no touchdowns.

If you’re a fantasy manager with Hurts, hopefully you have Marcus Mariota on standby just in case he’s inactive. If not, then you’re only other option could be Drew Lock, who could possibly be called into action if Geno Smith isn’t cleared for the Seahawks.

NFL DFS analysis

Moore enters this week’s contest with a DFS price of $7,700. He’s the highest priced player in this game and would be worth the price if he’s able to suit up against a Seahawks defense that has been vulnerable at times. If he’s unable to go, Smith, Mariota, or Lock are much cheaper options that you can get value out of, opening up some cap space for you to spend skill position weapons.

Betting analysis

Philadelphia enters the game as a 3-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, accompanied by a total of 45. These lines will change if Hurts is ruled inactive and I’d go ahead and jump on the under if that’s the case.
