Game status update: Waller is officially active for Sunday’s game against the Saints.

Game day update: Darren Waller is expected to play, per Adam Schefter.

New York Giants tight end Darren Waller has been on injured reserve with a hamstring injury since early November and was designated for return earlier this week. He was limited at his first practice back on Thursday, and is listed as questionable on the Giants’ injury report heading into their Week 15 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Before the injury, Waller had 384 receiving yards and a touchdown in the 2023 season.

Fantasy football analysis

If Waller is in this week, Daniel Bellinger will likely see a decrease in his fantasy earnings. Bellinger has seen a noticeable uptick in targets and yardage since Waller was placed on IR. However, you may not need to rush to bench Bellinger — the Giants could still keep Waller out for one more week to get healthy, or keep him on a snap count to ease him back in.

NFL DFS analysis

Waller costs $4,400 as a FLEX in daily fantasy at DraftKings Sportsbook. With his questionable designation, that money is better spent elsewhere this week on a player with more certainty.

Betting analysis

Waller has not yet played with Tommy DeVito, so it’s hard to tell how much he will work into the Giants’ passing scheme under the relatively new QB. However, aside from Bellinger’s totals, Waller’s presence or absence should not affect betting on this matchup.
