Game day update: Aaron Jones is expected to play, per Adam Schefter.

The Green Bay Packers are hoping to get star running back Aaron Jones back in Week 15 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as Jones works his way back from a sprained MCL. Jones suffered the injury three weeks ago and did not go on injured reserve, so there’s a belief he will suit up Sunday.

Fantasy football analysis

For the second straight week, Jones is questionable after logging limited practices all week. If he does suit up, he should be expected to have a lighter workload but could still deliver an explosive play or two with his speed. AJ Dillon is also questionable for the Packers, so Jones might even be considered a true lead back if Dillon is ruled out. Jones is a solid RB2 in most fantasy formats, and he’s a great flex play if you have other running backs locked in already.

NFL DFS analysis

Jones is priced at $6,500 in DFS contests, which puts him a tier below some of the top running backs in the game. If he is cleared, he does possess the upside of those star running backs and might be worth rostering in DFS lineups. He’s especially worth considering if Dillon is ruled out.

Betting analysis

The Packers are 3.5-point favorites at home against the Bucs, and that’s unlikely to change much with Jones’ status. The running back did say he was “feeling confident” about playing Sunday, so we could see Green Bay move to a 4-point favorite once the official designations come in. There are no official props yet for Jones, but he’s priced at -125 as an anytime touchdown scorer. That line showcases how diverse he is as a player and how important he can be to Green Bay’s offense.
