Alexander Mattison is dealing with an ankle injury ahead of Week 15. We break down what it means for fantasy football and betting.

The Minnesota Vikings travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 15, and they’ll be doing so shorthanded on offense. Running back Alexander Mattison sprained his ankle in Week 14 and has been ruled out for Week 15. He sat out practice all three days this week and was never really likely to be able to play on Sunday.

Ty Chandler will get the start in the backfield and Kene Nwangwu will serve as the primary backup. Last week, Chandler finished the game with 40 snaps, rushing 12 times for 35 yards and catching three passes for seven yards. Nwangwu played three offensive snaps, rushing two times for three yards and returning one kick for 31 yards.

Fantasy football analysis

The Vikings face a Bengals defense that ranks 16th in fantasy points allowed to running backs. Chandler will likely get the bulk of the work and is worth consideration in most fantasy lineups. He has some RB2 upside with Mattison ruled out.

NFL DFS analysis

Chandler is going to be a popular play this week. You can stick with the crowd to get the guaranteed points or fade them in hopes Chandler doesn’t have a big day and you find more value elsewhere.
