Update: Josh Jacobs is officially inactive for Week 15. Zamir White should replace him as the early down back, while Ameer Abdullah should get passing downs.

The Las Vegas Raiders will host the Los Angeles Chargers for their Week 15 matchup tonight and running back Josh Jacobs will be inactive for the contest, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The reigning NFL rushing champion suffered a quad injury during last Sunday’s 3-0 loss to the Vikings and did not practice during the short week. He was still ruled as questionable for this AFC West showdown, but will ultimately sit for the evening.

This is a tough blow for a Raiders offense that has clearly hit a wall over the past few weeks and is verging on the brink of being eliminated from playoff contention. Jacobs hasn’t been as explosive as he was last season, but has been consistent, racking up 805 rushing yards, 296 receiving yards, and six touchdowns heading into Week 15. With him now being ruled out, you can expect for backups Ameer Abdullah and Zamir White to share carries this evening, but White should be the starter and early-down back.
