Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has exited today’s Week 14 matchup against the Denver Broncos with a finger injury and has been ruled as questionable to return. Backup Easton Stick has come in the game in his place.

Justin Herbert injury updates

Update: Herbert had surgery on his finger, and head coach Brandon Staley says that he is done for the season.

Update: Herbert was diagnosed with a fractured right index finger. There is speculation that this injury could sideline him for the rest of the year.

Update: Justin Herbert has been ruled out for the rest of today’s game. The Chargers will have to ride with Easton Stick for the rest of the game.

Herbert took a hit in the second quarter of today’s AFC West matchup and was favoring his right index finger as he got up. The Broncos defensive front have been applying massive amounts of pressure so far as they recorded four sacks in the first half.

We’ll see what Herbert’s status is coming out of halftime shortly as the Chargers can ill afford a loss today. L.A. is hanging on the fringes of the AFC playoff race at 5-7 and a loss could put them in a hole that it won’t be able to climb out. Stick has already been on the receiving end of the Broncos’ pressure as they strip-sacked him for a touchdown shortly after his entry into the ballgame.
