Game status: Breece Hall is ACTIVE for Sunday’s game.

The New York Jets host the Houston Texans in Week 14, and they should have a critical weapon on offense as they look to keep their playoff hopes alive. Running back Breece Hall is listed as questionable with an ankle injury, but is expected to play, per Adam Schefter.

Hall did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday, but was able to get in a limited session on Friday. There was no mention of an injury last week, but Dalvin Cook got his biggest workload since Week 1. Hall gained 16 yards on 13 carries while Cook gained 35 yards on nine carries.

Fantasy football analysis

The Jets offense is a mess, and their backfield is struggling. Nobody has gained 100+ yards since Hall in Week 5, and the best running back performance since then was Hall gaining 50 yards in Week 9.

This week, the Jets face a Texans defense that ranks 13th against the run in DVOA and 16th in running back fantasy points allowed. They’re middle of the pack and there’s no reason to think Hall or Cook will do much of anything. Hall is worth a start in PPR leagues because he is going to see a lot of targets in the passing game. In standard leagues, he’s got limited flex value at best right now.

Betting analysis

Having Hall playing gives a slight boost to overs, including the Jets team over. You’ll find some value in receptions totals, but yardage totals aren’t worth playing for Hall or Cook.
