Inactives update: Carr is officially active and will play. With Taysom Hill out, Carr should at least get more chances around the goal line this week.

Game day update: Derek Carr cleared the concussion protocol on Friday and is expected to play, per Ian Rapoport. However, he will not be 100% for the game due to a non-displaced rib cartilage fracture and an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder.

The New Orleans Saints will host the Carolina Panthers for their Week 14 matchup this afternoon and quarterback Derek Carr is listed as questionable for the contest. He suffered a concussion against the Lions last week, but cleared protocol on Friday. He’s also been dealing with both a shoulder and rib injury, but is still expected to start today.

We’ll go over what his status could mean from a fantasy and betting standpoint below.

Derek Carr injury

Fantasy football analysis

Carr has been incredibly banged up over the last month and hasn’t been much of a factor for fantasy managers. He’s thrown just one touchdown in his last three outings and enters today’s game as the No. 21 fantasy QB. Unless you’re in a really desperate spot at QB, I’d go with another option as your starter this week.

NFL DFS analysis

Carr enters Week 14 with a DFS price of $5,600. He presents a huge value play for DFS managers, but you’d be better off looking at someone like Baker Mayfield, who will give you more production for a cheaper price of $5,300.

Betting analysis

New Orleans enters the game as a 6-point favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook, accompanied by a total of 38.5. The spread should move if Carr were unable to go in this game.
