Inactives update: Lawrence is active and will give it a go after suffering a “high-ankle” sprain last week. He’s either super-human or his sprain might not have been as high as first reported.
Game status update: Lawrence is trending toward playing but a decision will be made based on how well he performs in pregame warmups per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
It was a rough Monday Night Football for the Jacksonville Jaguars not only did they lose to the Cincinnati Bengals, but their offense suffered two significant injuries. Deep threat receiver Christian Kirk went down after the Jags first play of scrimmage. To make matters worse Trevor Lawrence also suffered a significant high left ankle sprain in the loss.
With a tough matchup against the Cleveland Browns looming, Lawrence was a limited participant for each practice this week. There is a possibility that he plays but he remains a true game-time decision for Week 14.
Trevor Lawrence injury
Fantasy football analysis
The good news is Lawrence is on track to play despite the injury looking gruesome. After scoring 32.2 fantasy points in Week 11 against the Titans and 24.6 versus the Texans in Week 12, this injury might be costly for his fantasy relevance.
Even if Lawrence decides to give it a go, you might want to look elsewhere for QB options. The Browns allow the least amount of passing yards at 153.4 per contest. Take into consideration that Lawrence will be without his go-to down the field wideout in Kirk too.
NFL DFS analysis
Lawrence would not be a good choice for any DFS consideration. Ankle injuries are tricky and with it being about six days removed, he is unlikely to even be 100%.
The Jaguars are currently +120 underdogs with the total set at 34 points, per Draftkings Sportsbook. With Lawrence being a game time call, odds may shift slightly but only on the moneyline side of things. The Browns have a murky QB situation of their own, with both Joe Flacco and Dorian Thompson-Robinson each sustaining injuries. This one is also unlikely to be a high scoring affair, with a mixed snow and rain weather forecast projected in Cleveland.
