Inactives update: Cooper is active and Joe Flacco is starting. Flacco looks like an upgrade to Cooper’s fantasy upside, so don’t be afraid to get him in your lineups for Week 14.

Game day update: Amari Cooper has cleared the concussion protocol and should play on Sunday, per Jake Trotter.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper sustained a head injury in the second quarter of Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams. Cooper was diagnosed with a concussion and entered concussion protocol this week. He returned to practice on Friday ahead of the Browns’ Sunday matchup against the Jaguars, but his official status for Week 14 has yet to be announced.

Amari Cooper injury

Fantasy football analysis

Cooper’s concussion could keep him out this week, especially given the recency of the injury, but fantasy managers with Browns WRs on their rosters have bigger things to worry about. The Browns have not yet named a starting quarterback for this week, and the passing offense in Cleveland feels very unpredictable right now. However, if Cooper is out, we can expect Cedric Tillman and Elijah Moore to see an increase in fantasy earnings. The Jaguars rank 25th in fantasy points allowed to wide receivers in standard leagues.

NFL DFS analysis

The Jaguars rank 28th in DFS points allowed to opposing wide receivers. Cooper will cost you $5,800 as a FLEX option in DFS this week. Keep an eye on further injury reports before you decide to start him.

Betting analysis

Cooper’s absence could certainly affect the Browns’ production. The team’s top wide receiver being unavailable against a team that does not do a particularly good job at defending wide receivers will feel like a missed opportunity. With the questions at the QB position, the absence of a consistent target could put the Browns at a disadvantage.
