The Cleveland Browns will go on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13. Rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson is in the league’s concussion protocol after taking a big hit in the team’s loss last week. He hasn’t practiced yet this week, which is causing Cleveland to prepare for veteran QB Joe Flacco to be their impromptu starter.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson injury updates
Friday update: Thompson-Robinson has been ruled out due to his concussion, which will give Joe Flacco the start against the Rams.
Thursday update: DTR did not practice on Thursday. As part of the protocol he likely needs to be at least limited on Friday to have a chance to play Sunday.
Wednesday update: Thompson-Robinson didn’t practice on Wednesday, but this wasn’t surprising given the concussion diagnoses.
Fantasy football analysis
Thompson-Robinson has taken over as the starter since quarterback Deshaun Watson had season-ending shoulder surgery. The rookie has played in five games this season. He has completed 53.2% of his passes for 429 yards with a touchdown and four interceptions. DTR has added 65 rushing yards on 12 carries.
The Los Angeles Rams are allowing middle-of-the-road numbers to opposing quarterbacks. Still, if he is healthy, Thompson-Robinson hasn’t retained any fantasy football relevance. Flacco could be an intriguing DFS play, but if DTR is inactive, I’d be hesitant to start him this week.
